The Monsal Trail is a cycling and walking trail following the River Wye which starts in Wye Dale, east of Buxton and ends at Coombs Viaduct near Bakewell. In addition to Bakewell it passes through Chee Dale, Millers Dale, Cressbrook, Monsal Dale (from which it takes its name), as well as the villages of Great Longstone and Hassop.

As it follows the old railway line it has a number of interesting landmarks most notably the Headstone Viaduct which spans Monsal Dale. It is about 90m long and over 20m high at the centre. You can view more pictures of the trail, get walking advice or find out more about the herstory here.
